PERMISSIONS

OUT OF CHARACTER

BACKTAGGING— Yep! Happy to.
BRACKETS/PROSE— I'm fine with either; usually default to brackets but I will happily match style.
THREADHOPPING— If the other player is on-board then go for it!
FOURTHWALLING— Ray's canon is full of constant pop-culture references, real or fictional, though Ray himself might be likely to recognize certain actors more than their characters unless it's a really well-known classic. Obviously this is easy to work around, especially with any canons later than ~the 90s, but basically: let's discuss it. There's also a running joke in Archer surrounding what year/era the show takes place in, so any discrepancies that may occur when Ray is discussing canon years/timelines/etc. will be intentional.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS— Nothing in particular. Ray gets homophobia and ableism thrown at him on a fairly regular basis and is pretty used to it by now (though obviously is irritated by it every time), and I'm fine with playing those kinds of things out if it's IC for your character. It's very ingrained in his canon so no need to ask first, even, unless somehow it might escalate beyond IC microaggressions. Ray can also be prone to mild examples of casual bigotry himself, such as casual misogyny and racism, (internalized) homophobia, (internalized) ableism, as well as sexual crudeness, addiction, and weight/self-image issues. Most aren't necessarily likely to come up in casual conversation if at all, but if there's anything you absolutely never want to deal with (or if you... do?) then please let me know! See the bottom of the post for opt-outs.
NOT INTERESTED IN— N/A

IN CHARACTER

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS— Archer is full of offensive/triggering subjects, so there isn't much that Ray can't or won't deal with. There are certain subjects relating to his own experiences/trauma he can be rather flippant when discussing with regards to himself, such as homophobia (internalized or not), self-aimed derogatory language, religious trauma, child abuse, his various injuries, murder/violence, and others, so while I'd absolutely warn appropriately please let me know ahead of time if there's anything you don't want him casually referencing in conversation with your character. In the reverse, no subjects are off-limits.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION— Go for it. Ray isn't necessarily hugely physically affectionate himself beyond casual contact and, say, pats on the back or shoulders, but he also has nothing in particular against it when it's friendly and not annoying.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE— Archer is a fairly violent canon and Ray is often on the receiving end/prone to injury, but he can also be capable of violence himself either as part of the nature of his work or in other more specific situational contexts, rarely simply for the sake of it. Obviously let's discuss it first, but generally I'm fine with it!

RELATIONSHIPS— Totally open to it. Ray is roughly in his late 30s to early 40s, so preferably any romantic development would be with (male) characters 30+.

PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION— I'm fine with it, just ask first so I can provide the relevant info!

MEDICAL INFORMATION— Ray is generally in decent health for a man his age, in good physical condition despite a tendency to smoke, drink in excess, and partake in recreational drug-use. He has a gunshot scar on his stomach (and likely other scars elsewhere, but that's the only one that gets animated), is missing his right hand, which has been replaced with a bionic prosthetic, and technically is paralyzed from the waist down— he is currently able to walk due to undergoing surgery to have his leg bones replaced with bionic ones. His blood type is O-negative and he's also color blind.

OPT-OUT

If you think you might like to opt-out of CR, or at least certain subjects, feel free to fill this form out if you'd rather not risk taking things on a case-by-case basis. This form isn't a requirement, but for the people who may need or want it; let me know if you'd prefer any of the following subjects to never come up in conversation, or if you'd like to establish specific boundaries ahead of time for if/when they do, or of course if you'd prefer to simply not be tagged by Ray at all.
HOMOPHOBIA— Despite being generally out, proud, and open about his sexuality, Ray has a good deal of internalized homophobia due to his conservative religious rural upbringing; this includes religious trauma/internalization of "homosexuality as a sin," child abuse/bullying, a prior lavender marriage as attempted conversion therapy, defensiveness and/or references to homophobic stereotypes, references to/mentions of experienced homophobia, and things in this vein.

ABLEISM— Due to his multiple accidents and subsequent injuries, Ray has quite a bit of internalized ableism as a result of that trauma. While he can currently walk again, becoming paralyzed was a big blow for him due to his profession, his history as an Olympic skier, and because it made him a joke among his peers, so unfortunately he has very few good associations about his time in a wheelchair (except when he could use it as an excuse for getting out of things he didn't want to do). Though this is not to say these ableist sentiments are indicative of what Ray believes about other wheelchair users/paraplegics, but he very much felt down on his himself about his paralysis and his missing hand to the point his coworkers have thought he might be suicidal.

CASUAL BIGOTRY— Much less likely to come up (and I'd honestly sooner not play it out, but it bears mentioning regardless), but for example, there have been instances of casual racism -- mostly with regard to his bionic prosthetic hand, and his weird preoccupation with Japanese culture -- and other, similar every day microaggressions kind of bigotry. It isn't malicious but he simply hasn't unlearned every problematic view from his upbringing, or isn't self-aware/educated enough to have clocked the microaggressions in his own behavior or vocabulary.

ADDICTION/DRUGS/ALCOHOL USE— Ray doesn't have it as bad as some of the other Archer characters, but he still experiences milder forms of addiction when it comes to drinking, smoking, and food. He also has been known to have recreational drug habits, particularly pot and ecstasy/LSD/club drugs, and might potentially make reference to the former cocaine addiction of several of his colleagues.

DISORDERED EATING— Mostly in the form of binging, usually sweets, and then scolding himself for it in various different ways, calling himself a "fatty" and/or simply wallowing in his feelings.
